Our History

Trinity Baptist Church was established on January 1, 1989, by Pastor James L. Rawlins and approximately twenty-two members. These members started out meeting in a two-car garage which was a part of the Military Christian Home that served the military on Fort Stewart. The home is located on South Main Street in Hinesville, Georgia, and is there today, though vacant.

In March of that same year, the church voted to purchase two acres of land and a double-wide trailer located on E. G. Miles Parkway in Hinesville for our church to meet in. In 1992, the church decided to build a building, and used the trailer for Sunday School classes.

Pastor Charles Lybarger became our pastor from September 1993 until September 1997. Brother Timothy Parrish candidated for Trinity Baptist Church in September 1997, and was called to be our pastor on February 1, 1998 by unanimous decision.

In 2003 Bro. Russell Smiley donated twenty-five acres of land in Long County to the church and it was decided right away to build a new church on this piece of land. Trinity Baptist Church held its first service in this new building on April 25, 2004, and is growing in this location today.

After sixteen and a half years of guiding TBC, Bro. Parrish has gone on to the mission field in Southeast Asia. In August, 2014 Pastor Matthew Massey became our new pastor. We have seen phenominal growth under the leadership of Pastor Matthew and Amber, and look forward to what God has for us in the future.

BUILDING BRIDGES BETWEEN GOD AND THE LOST

OUR PURPOSE

The first purpose of any New Testament church is summed up in the commission Christ gave His disciples just before He ascended to Heaven: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18–20).

This last command of Christ should be our highest priority; every facet of church activity should in some way relate to this, the purpose of the church, and so it is at Trinity Baptist Church. Everything we do, every ministry, every outreach, and every event has as its main focus to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost.

At Trinity Baptist Church, we emphasize this purpose in our three-point mission statement:

REACH IN

We Reach In by helping other believers with their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. The basis of this is Jesus' command to love our neighbors as ourselves.

REACH UP

We Reach Up by focusing on our individual and intimate relationship, worship, and fellowship with God.

REACH OUT

We Reach Out by proclaiming to the unconverted world the good news of salvation, forgiveness, and freedom made available through Jesus Christ.

TESTIMONIALS

"I feel so comfortable and at home here. Couldn't ask for a better church for my family."

Keith Gilbert

"The Pastor truly is a man of God. He leads the church Biblically. Everyone that attends is open and welcoming in every way. When we PCSed here we were worried if we could find another church home and Trinity definately fit the bill. I hope you will give them a chance you won't regret it."
